*Source: Conversation with native speaker (a Life Pharmacy staff)
*Strategies:
1. Before going to the shop, make sure what I am going to ask
2. Before starting conversation, ask the staff to speak slowly
3. Ask the staff again when I didn't catch or understand what s/he is saying.
*Evaluations:
1. It would be easier to keep conversation if I had prepared what I am going to say.
2. It would be easier to catch and understand if I had asked the staff to speak slowly before conversation.
*Reflection:
1. Actually, I have a fear of making conversation in English so it was very difficult to me, but also it was good experience.
2. It was easier to understand what the staff was saying during the conversation because I asked the staff to speak slowly.

*Source:
G.I.Joe directed by Steven Sommers at IMAX Cinema
*Strategies:
1. Before watching it, search the story by the Internet
2. Just concentrate during watching it
3. During watching it, try to remember words which I didn't know.
4. After watching it, look for the meaning of new words
*Evaluation:
1. Before watching it, serch the story by the Internet would be helpful because it help to understand what the story is going on, what the story is telling us.
2. Just concentrate during watching it because there is no subtitle. Just LISTEN!
3. It is a good idea that write down new words on a piece of paper.
4. Look dictionary, and then know the new words.
*Reflection:
1. It was hard to understand the film during watching it, because there is no subtitle neither English, nor Korean.
2. I didn't write down new words, just I tried to remember them. So I forgot almost new words. Next time, I should make a note.

Master of IELTS - Listening
*Source: Master of IELTS Listening
-Basic Practice
*Strategies
1. Before listening, read explanations.
2. Play the CD, and answer the questions.
3. After filling all answers, check the answers, and then listening again.
*Evaluation
1. Read explanations before listening CD is quite important because the explanations tell me what I am going to do, and purpose of questions.
2. Replaying the CD is helpful for understand pronunciation.
*Reflection
1. Actually, this book is to practice an IELTS test for Koreans, so every explanation is written by Korean (except questions). So it was not difficult to understand what I am going to do, what is the purpose of the questions.
2. Although it was basic practice, it is hard to understand the pronunciation. I listened some numbers, dates, fractions, decimal points & money and names of people and place etc. Especially, listening fractions is very hard to me, because I have had no chance to use fractions.

Listening Portfolio
I like listening both English and my first language, but I'm not good at listening English. I think listening is a quite important skill of learning not only English but also any other languages.
I like both listening to in Korean, and English, but still I prefer listening in Korean to listening in English. When I talk with other people in English, I always misunderstand what people said and then I say them "pardon?"
I'm trying to avoid watching Korean subtitles when I'm watching English movies. If a movie has English subtitle, I use it only first time. And sometimes I listen to a radio. I think the best way to improve listening skill is watching English TV programme or movies.

There are 22 students includes me in our class. 15 students are women, and 7 students are men.
They have different mother tongues, which are Japanese, Korean, Chinese(Cantonese and Mandarin), Arabic, Indonesian, Vietnamese, Pidgin, Portuguese, and Kachin. All of them can speak English as a second Language, and also some of them can speak more other languages.
The longest English learner has been studying for 15years, and most of them had studied English from school in their hometown.
There are many reasons to study English. To communicate with others, to find a job, to have a better life in NZ, and for their children`s education.
Many students have been to other countries, where were Australia, Thailand, Malaysia, Singapore, and Europ Countries. Also they have been to other places in New Zealand, where were Rotorua, Hamilton, Tauranga, Rangitoto, Christchurch, and Queenstown.

About Me
Hello everyone. My name is Sang Ah PARK and also you can call me Phoebe. I'm Korean and I am from an countryside named "Young-Gwang".
(This picture is my hometown)
(This photo is the school uniform of Westlake Girls' Highschool.) After that, I came to Unitec this year. I want to study Psychology after the diploma. Also I'd like to learn more languages like Japanese, French,,,etc. I want to be a psychologist, but my family want me to be a diplomatist. That is good job, but I don't want it because I have to a lot of studies to be a diplomatist!!
I have never worked, no, I have once in Korea, just one week for part-time. I worked in a buffet restaurant which is my aunty's.
I use Korean language which is my first language. I am learning English as second language. I'd learned English for a longtime, and also I've been learning English for 2 years in NZ. 1 year was in Westlake Girls' High School and another year is in a private language institution and Unitec. There are some reasons why I am learning English in NZ. First reason, it is little bit sad reason(T.T). I didn't enjoy my school life in Korea, so I didn't study anything except English. So my mum decided to send me here. Second reason is, I want to live and have a job in NZ or other English countries. I don't like a life in Korea. That is all. I think I am really bad with listening and speaking. I'm afraid of speaking English because my pronunciation is toooooooo bad. But I think, my grammar is normal. yeah good. hahahahaha :D
I've been to Thailand to have a holiday when I was 14years old, at that time, I was a Girl scout member. I want to travel other many countries when I have a job in the future. I've been to very few places where were Mission Bay, and North Shore City(Brownsbay, Milford Beach, Takapuna...) in NZ. I had no chance and no time to visit somewhere.
And you know? I am very funny girl. If you know about me more, you can find me very funny. My all Korean friends always says "You are so funny!" hahahahahha:D..... I always enjoy all times, and do everything with smiling and laughing!(so sometimes some of my friends think I am crazy, but I am OK!)
(This picture is my hometown)I am an international student so I'm living with one of my friends in the Auckland city. My hobby is.. erm.. I don't know what I am good at doing something, but I like watching movies, internet shopping, cooking(actually, just like doing it, not good at), and reading books! I am a solo, it means I DON'T have a boyfriend, HAHAHAHAHAHAHA ;(. I have parents, 4 years older brother and 9 years younger brother, of course no child. All of them are in Korea.
(Left - My Younger brother, Right - my mum and my older brother in the Philippines)
(Left - My Younger brother, Right - my mum and my older brother in the Philippines)I did not graduate a high school. I finished Year11 in Korea, and I finished Year11 again at Westlake Girls' High School in New Zealand. I left the school when I was Year12, unfortunately, I was not graduated.
